Whitney had an amazing voice but didn't write any of her material. Janet on the other hand, doesn't have Whitney's singing chops, but she wrote or co-wrote on all albums since Control in 1986. Plus, she's had multiple blockbuster tours and countless artists cite her as a major career influence.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3760137241594753268.post-55280176164736131282013-09-22T17:19:14.575-07:002013-09-22T17:19:14.575-07:00Whatever else one might say about Don Henley, he i...Whatever else one might say about Don Henley, he is spot-on about Linda Ronstadt. Well before she announced that she had Parkinson's, Linda was more than qualified for the RRHOF, having done not only rock and roll itself in her career, but all the myriad styles (country; blues; folk; pop; jazz; R&B; gospel) that helped rock and roll come into being in the first place, and having been eligible since at least 1994. Maybe it doesn't concern her all that much in her present situation, but fans and peers alike have her back. Let's induct Linda in the Hall of Fame, and let's do it now!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3760137241594753268.post-66571997079498130772013-09-12T12:47:03.067-07:002013-09-12T12:47:03.067-07:00I'd say Janet Jackson should be nominated befo...I'd say Janet Jackson should be nominated before Whitney Houston. That's not to say that Whitney isn't deserving.

I'd also like to see Depeche Mode and The Cure on the ballot.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3760137241594753268.post-59511083266147615392013-09-07T07:50:37.221-07:002013-09-07T07:50:37.221-07:00There's an exhibit for Debbie Gibson? It's safe to say that, while I enjoy her, she won't even be considered.

And, yes, I don't think having an exhibit or artifacts in the museum necessarily means anything in terms of induction.

For some acts, it's only a matter of time before they get in (look how long Neil Diamond waited)- it's those first-year-eligible inductees that really stand out.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
